Welcome to the FÓN project website.

FÓN stands for Foghlaim Ón Nuatheicneolaíocht or Learning through New Technologies.

The FÓN project is a joint venture between the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment, the National Centre for Technology in Education and Foras na Gaeilege.

The project involves the use of mobile phones and networked computers for teaching, learning and assessing Irish at post-pimary level. We’re working with three schools in the Republic of Ireland and three schools in Northern Ireland.

Click on the links to the left to learn more about the project. You can also navigate this site in Irish – click on the Leagan Gaeilge link.

Fáilte chuig suíomh idirlín FÓN.

Ciallaíonn FÓN Foghlaim Ón Nuatheicneolaíocht.

Is comhfhiontar é an tionscadail FÓN idir an Chomhairle Náisiúnta Curaclaim agus Measúnachta, An Lárionad Náisiúnta do Theicneolaíocht san Oideachais agus Foras na Gaeilge.

Is é atá i gceist leis an tionscadail ná úsáid a bhaint as fón póca agus ríomhairi i múineadh, foghlaim agus measúnú ar an nGaeilge san Iar-bhunscoil. Táimíd ag obair le trí scoileanna i dTuaisceart na hÉireann agus trí scoil in Éire.
